A couple times a year I donate my time and/or services to organizations I believe in. This past year I donated a photo session to a fundraiser for Gary’s House. As a person who has had family in the hospital, I can understand the need for a place like Gary’s House to help ease the burden for people. I always like hearing from those who buy or win sessions with me, and love meeting people maybe I wouldn’t otherwise.
Stacey and I had met once briefly through a mutual friend, so when she bought my raffle item I was excited to meet her family and get to know her better. It took a little juggling to get everyone’s schedules to line up, but this summer I got to hang out with her twins (more here) Mia and Morgan, along with their cousins Griffin and Jack. The boys joined us for part of the shoot, then we ladies left the beach and continued the photo shoot fun over ice cream. Ice cream is always fun, no matter your age, and always makes for good photo ops! Just file that info away if you are planning on getting family photos done in the coming season (which means we should make it happen during the warmer months, if possible
)

You may notice the absence of some people: the adults. There are times when parents show up to a shoot and say it’s really about the kids and they don’t NEED to be in any of the photos. I, however, usually have other plans. And I know once the kids get laughing the adults usually can’t help themselves and want to be part of the fun. But I will have to wait for another opportunity to get all the adults in on the fun as we did this shoot in the middle of the day and both dads were at work.
And hopefully I am not ruining any Christmas surprises by finally getting these images up on the blog!
Brace yourself for some sweet moments and a few good chuckles over one of my favorite desserts…
I love how hard his legs are working to keep up with everyone.

If memory serves me right, they both got the Chocolate Orea Moose. Nice!

One of them seems to eat faster than the other.

A girl after my own heart. Chocolate on teeth is ALWAYS funny.

Oh, the laid back feeling of a summer day!

Looking at these photos again made me remember why we love summer in Maine so much! Especially since today I am bundled up in 3 layers here in my office!
